Much like how Linkara hates Spider-man: One more day, there was a comic from Marvel which i despise to this very day. An Event comic known as Civil War. This 2006 event comic from marvel was a story about how over 600 people were killed and the superheroes were blamed for it so in order to keep superheroes in line the "Superhero Registration Act" was born. In this act, all superheroes and masked vigilantes must abide by the government or else risk imprisonment. This act caused superheroes to choose sides. One group that supports the act and other is against it. I could understand that the concept of a hero vs. hero conflict over an important issue could prove to be interesting; however, I had started to really despise the Marvel Universe after this comic was over.

After a super villain named Nitro had killed over 600 people in Stanford after a fight with the New Warriors, a woman named Miriam Sharpe who lost her son in the blast, SPAT on Tony Stark’s face. She blamed him for what happened to her son because she believes that it was the super heroes fault. I find that people who can't see past their grief and lash out at others to be completely unsympathetic. That's why i hated that woman that slapped superman because he was too busy SAVING THE WORLD (AGAIN) to save her husband.

If is story was supposed to have similarities to what happened in September 11? Then it’s no wonder this comic sucks (in my opinion). Thanks to the Superhero Registration Act, anyone who supports the act was unlikeable to a point where they were labeled as fascist villains. During the seven issue comic, there wasn’t any hero to root for. Except for Captain America, but that changed in the seventh issue.

In the last issue, the brawl between Cap and Iron Man came to a close in the most asinine moment in comic book history. Captain America was winning, but after being restrained by civilians, he did something what he swore he would never do. He surrendered.

Captain America was the man out of time who would still fight the good fight, Captain America was the man who would never give up and would always persevere no matter what, Captain America was the man who punch Hitler for cripes sake. But in Civil War he surrenders. WHAT THE HELL MARVEL? Oh and it add insult to injury, Captain America gets shot and dies. WOW. Oh and Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin had was now in charge of saving the world.

You want to know what really made me hate this comic the most. It wasn't the depressing, badly executed story and it wasn't the out of character moments. It was what happened to one of the superheroes in the aftermath of the Stanford explosion which not only made me hate Marvel's Civil War but i had grown to despise the Marvel Universe entirely because of this:

That's right Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch was called a “baby-killer” by some jackasses and they beat him to a point where Johnny was put in a coma. THIS was where I lost any sympathy for MOST civilians in the Marvel Universe. Johnny Storm the founding member of the Fantastic Four and the kid who helped save the world from Galactus with his other family members was attacked for no reason other than the fact that he is a Superhero and now because of what happened in Stanford suddenly everyone hates superheroes. And to further piss me off, those jerkasses got away with assaulting Johnny. Again that last picture was what made me not only hate this series but it had made me question why do Superheroes continue to save the Marvel Universe when they have continue to show that they do nothing but whine and throw abuse to heroes. In fact, if it wasn't for civil war, THERE WOULD BE NO SPIDER-MAN ONE MORE DAY. This Storyline really made me stop buying any Marvel Comics. I honesty thought that Civil War RUINIED Marvel and I have since stop buying their comics. I was happy that the act was removed entirely in the siege storyline.
